Where the Flowers Dance began as an experiment with acrylic paint markers, a medium that dries so quickly it leaves little room for blending. Instead of fighting that limitation, I began daubing the color onto the vellum, allowing the painting to take on a loose, impressionistic quality. The flowers surprised me most; I don’t often paint them, and I enjoyed the way they emerged through small touches of color. The result feels playful, light, and full of movement. This piece reminds me that the most interesting discoveries often happen when a material refuses to behave the way we expect.
